Hearst are an international publication for magazines of all genres. Hearst UK currently publishes 23 brands, and their website claimed to reach out to one in three women and one in four men every month across the UK. Their website also states they sell over four million magazines every month and have around 22 million followers across may different social media platforms.
Hearst make variety's of lifestyle magazines from Health and Fitness to Fashion and Home Decoration. The only Entertainment brand they have is online called Digital Spy which is closer to the briefs requirements.
The gap in Hearst's production is print entertainment magazines.

Fun Loving, Open Minded and Active 16-25 year olds

- The career path of the target audience would be something along the lines of a creative area. The younger part to the audience may not be employed or have a smaller part time job, however the older range to the target audience are more likely to have a career in the creative aspects such as art, photography, film and writing as shown by the increase in creative subjects taken in colleges and universities over the past 5 years. this is important as I would think a fun-loving audience would like to express themselves in any way and the best way to do that is to work in the arts of some sort. With the target audience representation would be a large aspect so i would like to focus on a wide variety of people to be featured on the covers and contents pages.
Psychographic
- They would have some extra income in order to afford luxuries like a entertainment magazine. They would be living in a mixture of rural and urban areas and should have easy access to the types of things they read about. This could include cinemas and the internet.
- The audience would be 'Strivers' as they would be characterised be being trendy and fun-loving.
- They are motivated by achievement and money.
Magazine overview
My magazine
is going to be a vibrant, happy magazine based towards hoping those in less
fortunate situations with a mix of donations and ideas on cheap entertainment.
It will be represented with a bit of simple cover with all of the main fundamental
aspects as well as some extra sections for budget ideas on the website. I will
include content of Books, Film, TV and Music. The target audience would be fun
loving but maybe in a situation where they cant access this fun as well as those
who can but want to put a little towards helping those in need in both the UK
and aboard.
